April 4th is #EqualPayDay, symbolizing the day the average woman must work to have earned what the average man had earned the year before. Instead of supporting women, the Premier continues to devalue the contributions of women workers in female-dominated professions like midwifery, nursing, and education.

Kudos to the strong and determined education workers who forced the government to back down, and to the health care and public sector workers who are fighting the government in court.

I support the work of the Equal Pay Coalition - Ontario and on Equal Pay Day, I asked the Premier to stop attacking women workers, and instead create policies that actually help to close the gender wage gap instead of widening it.
