QUEEN'S PARK - MPP Peggy Sattler (London West) shared feedback from RNAO’s Middlesex-Elgin chapter at Queen's Park today. Nurses who work in home care, long-term care, emergency and pediatric emergency, ICU, and public health all shared they are exhausted. The growth of hallway medicine and the weaponization of Bill 124 tells nurses that this government does not value them.
Investing public dollars to recruit workers who don’t stay in the health care profession won’t do a thing to shore up the health care workforce. We need to compensate healthcare workers fairly, improve working conditions, and repeal Bill 124. "These are the measures that would really make a difference," said Sattler.
