Bukola is a compassionate leader who demonstrates an unwavering commitment to community building and inclusivity. Through her extensive involvement in the Nigerian Association of London and Area and support for newcomer integration, Bukola empowers those around her to engage in volunteerism while addressing critical issues like job readiness, financial literacy and food insecurity.

 


Moumita Bose

Moumita is a kindhearted and energetic community organizer who volunteers her time towards creating a more inclusive and considerate community. As the driving force behind the Utsav Benagli Association, she coordinates intercommunity cultural programs and events that bring Londoners closer together. She is also an active school volunteer, and a champion for animal welfare and environmental protection.

 


Jan DeRose
Nominated by the May Court Club of London

Jan has been a dedicated and reliable volunteer of the May Court Club of London for 29 years, where she has put in countless hours of community work and outreach. Jan has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving student nutrition and making London more inclusive for children and families through her service with many of the club’s community programs.

Joan is a long-time member and past president of the Rotary Club of London South, where her leadership and active participation have made an impact locally and internationally. She is passionate about polio eradication and has initiated multiple projects to help those in need in Canada and overseas. Joan’s deep commitment to service exemplifies the true spirit of giving back.

Young Joon is a hardworking and outstanding young Londoner with a passion for community service. As a dedicated volunteer for the Northwest London Resource Centre for the last five years,  Young Joon is a pillar in the neighborhood, mentoring and supporting youth, organizing food drives, and bringing organizations together to improve the lives of people in the community.

Karen is an uplifting leader who brings a world of positivity to the Hyde Park and District Lions Club, with an enthusiasm for volunteering that spreads joy to those around her. Amna Saleem is a determined and empowering leader who has devoted her life’s work to supporting the most vulnerable in our community. As the founder and president of the newly-opened Halal Food Bank, Amna brings volunteers and donors together to help individuals and families in need, preparing and distributing 400 food hampers this Ramadan for those in need.

Through their multi-level government advocacy, community organizing, and activism, co-founders Peter and Jeff empower Londoners to come together and take action to protect universal health care in our province.

London Interfaith Peace Camp

The London Interfaith Peace Camp is a local initiative rooted in interfaith dialogue to foster unity and understanding among Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities. Since 2015, the leaders of the camp have been advocates for peace and community building, connecting London youth across different faiths and bringing diverse communities closer together.

For 25 years, the New Vision Advocates have dedicated themselves to creating a voice for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities. From meeting with representatives at all levels of government to engaging with the community, this uplifting and positive group creates awareness about the importance of acceptance, belonging, and respect for all members of the community.
